Son Goku Son Gokū is a , addressed only as Goku in most English adaptations)fictional character and the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise created by Akira Toriyama. He first appears in the manga chapter Bulma and Son Goku (ブルマと孫悟空 Buruma to Son Gokū ) first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on December 3, 1984.[1] He is loosely based on Sun Wukong, a central character in Journey to the West. However, Toriyama changed some of his characteristics to be more original. Goku is introduced as an odd, monkey-tailed boy who practices martial arts and possesses superhuman strength.[2] As the story unfolds, he is revealed to be from a fictional race of extraterrestrialsfictional universe.[3] called Saiyans, said to be the strongest warriors within the
Goku has starred in most of the episodes, films, and specials of the anime series Dragon
Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon
Ball Z Kai, as well as many of the spin-off video games. Outside of the Dragon Ball
franchise, Goku has had cameo appearances in Toriyama's self-parody series Neko
Majin Z. He has also been the subject of other parodies, and has
appeared in various special events and in American pop culture.
Abilities:
Through constant training, Goku has achieved many abilities; power
sensing, invulnerability, superhuman durability, superhuman senses,
concussion beams, force field generation aside from his extreme strength
and incredible stamina. He also possesses Faster-than-light
speeds,[18]
superhuman reflexes and can perform energy
blasts which are formed from chi. As a
child, Goku wielded the Nyoi-bo (如意棒 lit. "Mind
Stick" ,
renamed "Power Pole" in the English anime), a magic staff that
extends and retracts on command, which was given to him by his adoptive grandfather.[1]
Originally Goku's main means of conveyance was on a magic cloud called
the Kinto-un (筋斗雲 lit.
"Somersault Cloud" ,
renamed "Nimbus" in the English anime), which was given to him
as a child by Roshi for saving his pet sea turtle.[19]
After his training with Kami he learns to fly through the technique Buku-jutsu
(舞空術 lit. "Air Dance Technique" )
and uses the cloud less and less as the series progresses.
Son Gohan
Son Gohan (, addressed only as Gohan in most English adaptations) is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball universe created by Akira Toriyama as a protagonist for the media franchise, which consists of a series of manga, anime, soundtracks, movies, television specials, video games, and other collectibles. Gohan is introduced as the first son of the primary protagonist, Son Goku, and his wife, Chi Chi, in volume #17 of the original manga, or the premiere episode of its animated adaptation, Dragon Ball Z. Gohan is the first Saiyan/Human hybrid in the series.
Gohan's name comes from the Japanese word "gohan", lit. "cooked rice" or "meal of any sort"), is a continuation of the naming scheme of foods by Toriyama. Rice, being a grain, is not normally considered to be a vegetable, even though it is part of a tidy. However, as the word "vegetable" is a culinary term, and not a botanical term, the name can also continue the naming scheme for Saiyan characters, which derives names from puns on vegetables (Saiya being an anagram of the word yasai, meaning "vegetable").[1]
In conceptualizing for Gohan's character, Toriyama originally included glasses or a jacket to his apparel, and commonly, his hair is spiked up as seen in the final design.[2] With the ending of the Cell arc, Gohan was meant to replace his father as the main protagonist; Toriyama later decided against it though.[3

Vegeta
Vegeta is a fictional character, and hero in the Dragon Ball franchise created by Akira Toriyama. Vegeta first appeared in the manga chapter #204 Sayōnara Son Gokū (さようなら孫悟空 Goodbye Son Goku ) first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on December 19, 1988,[1] and in episode 5 of its anime adaptation Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta was originally a dangerous enemy who sought to use the Dragon Balls to gain immortality, but later became an anti-hero as even greater threats were introduced in the series. In the series, Vegeta is a member of the Royal Saiyan lineage, the extraterrestrial race that the series' main character is from. Even though Vegeta is viewed as a dangerous enemy to Goku for the beginning of the series, he later becomes a trusted ally to Goku with his assistance in the defeat of powerful enemies such as Cell and Majin Buu. He always strives to "surpass Kakarrot (Goku's Birth Name)."
Vegeta's initial appearance in the manga is as a short and stocky character, with upright standing hair and a defined widow's peak. When compared to the main character Goku, Vegeta is noticeably shorter. As the series continued, Toriyama's artwork evolved and as a result, Vegeta became more lean and average looking. In the anime adaptation's spin off called Dragon Ball GT, Vegeta's appearance goes through a drastic change, more so than any other previous time. Vegeta is seen to completely abandon his Saiyan style attire, and dress in an Earth dress reminiscent of real life Western cultures and he also appears to be more muscular . When he's first introduced in the series, Vegeta has a tail, which he loses in his initial battle on Earth with Goku and his allies. Over the course of the series, he has worn several variations of the Saiyan suit, but began abandoning the armor after the fight against Cell, even though his gloves and boots still reflect his Saiyan roots throughout the end of the written series. However, beginning in the Dragon Ball GT series, he abandons any indication of Saiyan style clothing for a more Earth-based appearance (this excludes his Super Saiyan 4 form, whose clothing has distinct Saiyan roots style).
Vegeta is known to give names for his various energy attacks. In his early appearance, Vegeta is seen to use attacks similar to several of the protagonists of the series, such as a Ki Disk Cutte, a two fingered laser-like blast, and a ki wave similar to Goku's Kamehame-Ha. This beam known as the Galick Gun Kienzan )( is used by Vegeta during his battle against Goku in an attempt to destroy the Earth.[2] The Galick Gun is the main attack used by Vegeta in most Dragon Ball Z video games, although he uses it only once in the manga. Vegeta later develops the Big Bang Attack Biggu Ban Atakku and the Final Flash )Fainaru Furasshu attacks, which are much more powerful than his older energy attacks. )[3][4

Abilities:
Up until his tail was cut off by Yajirobe, he could turn into a Giant Ape, or Oozaru under a full moon. This is a capability of all Saiyans with tails. Vegeta has the ability to create and enhance attacks with the use of ki. Vegeta has the ability to use Buku-jutsu (舞空術 lit: air dancing technique ) which enables him to fly.[2] Constant training and his Saiyan heritage have given him vast superhuman strength, durability, speed and reflexes.[2]Vegeta is known to give names for his various energy attacks. In his early appearance, Vegeta is seen to use attacks similar to several of the protagonists of the series, such as a Ki Disk Cutte, a two fingered laser-like blast, and a ki wave similar to Goku's Kamehame-Ha. Gotenks
Gotenks is one of two fusions performed through the use of the Fusion Dance technique. He, along with Gogeta, the fighter created by Goku and Vegeta using the Fusion Dance, were summoned out of desperation to defeat powerful enemies. In Gotenks' case, his enemy was Majin Buu and later in the saga, he is to be used by Majin Buu as his main power source where Gotenks is absorbed heartlessly. Gotenks is seen a few times in Dragon Ball Z, and has an appearance in DBZ Movies 12 and 13. The dance is a special type of fusion ability, a connection through the fusers' fingers. The fusees need to perform a special type of pose, then connect their index fingers evenly to produce a perfect fusion. Gotenks was a fusion taught to Goten and Trunks by Goku, and later trained by Piccolo.
Gotenks' childish personality causes him to create many, many attacks, some of which are nothing special, while some deal hefty damage. Most of his attacks are only used once. He tends to give very basic moves complicated names. His habit of giving names to all his attacks (and subsequently only using them once), could possibly come from Vegeta, who has a similar, yet much less ridiculous, habit (Vegeta's most-associated attacks, such as the Galick Gun, Final Flash, or the Big Bang Attack, are each only used once in the manga). This habit is less apparent in the anime, as Gotenks and Vegeta tend to use those attacks more than once.
Gotenks' Super Saiyan form is much more powerful than his normal form, and is formed in one of two ways: He can transform to a Super Saiyan when fused, or Goten and Trunks can fuse whilst already in the Super Saiyan state. Though he fought Super Buu in this form and was stated by Goku to be more than enough to finish the fat Majin Buu, he was still not strong enough to stand up to him once he was absorbed by his evil counterpart and transformed into a vastly superior form. Before his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Gotenks was a bit unskilled in ability and was not able to access the state without directly being fused into the Super Saiyan state first, but after training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, he became one of the most powerful fighters (though he still retains his goofy attitude and tendency to pose and stall dramatically).
Trunks
Trunks has a slender muscular physique with his most dominant genes coming from his maternal side, thus resulting in his having blue eyes and lavender-colored hair which is mostly shown in the undercut style.[1] During his early teens, this style was parted on his right side and his late teens it was parted in the left. As he is half human, his hair tends to grow. Because of this, he wore his hair in an over-the-shoulders style during Cell Games arc. The color caused some confusion among the other characters that met him; as Vegeta pointed out in chapter 139 and episode 121, a Saiyan's hair color is generally black.[2]
Both incarnations can at least transform into basic Super Saiyan although their achievement of this form differs between incarnation. Future Trunks achieved this in his early teens but even this varies in media. In the TV special he would ascend after observing the body of the recently deceased Future Gohan.[9] Whereas, In the manga, he is shown to be a Super Saiyan for some time.[4] Present Trunks would be shown to have the ability at the age of eight.[10] In the Cell saga, Future Trunks would gain the ability ascend to 2nd and 3rd Super Saiyan grades[11] during his training with Vegeta in the Room of Time and Mind. Unfortunately, these forms would decrease his speed greatly and so he would abandon them after his first initial fight with Cell.[12]

Future Trunks
The first and most identified incarnation of the character that readers and viewers get to see would come to be known production wise as Future Trunks(未来のトランクス Mirai no Torankusu , Trunks of the Future). This incarnation first appeared in the manga chapter 331 Nazo no Shōnen (謎の少年 The Young Boy of Mystery ) first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on July 15, 1991.[3] Here he is a mysterious seventeen year old who appears and singlehandedly kills Frieza and his father King Cold. Upon Goku's return from planet Namek in the following chapter, Trunks would confide with Goku and unknowingly to Piccolo (Due to his acute Namekian hearing) his tragic story.
Abilities
Trunks possesses several abilities including superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and energy waves. Which can be utilized by the use of chi. His main means of conveyance is a technique called buku-jutsu (舞空術 Air Dance ) which gives him the ability of flight.[7] However, Trunks does not rely on this technique as his only conveyance as he can also be seen piloting various crafts manufactured by his family's company including the time machine which allowed him to visit Goku in the past.[8]Both incarnations can at least transform into basic Super Saiyan although their achievement of this form differs between incarnation.
