Vegeta (Bejīta ) is a fictional character, and hero in the Dragon Ball franchise created by Akira Toriyama. Vegeta first appeared in the manga chapter #204 Sayōnara Son Gokū (Goodbye Son Goku first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump ) magazine on December 19, 1988,[1] and in episode 5 of its anime adaptation Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta was originally a dangerous enemy who sought to use the Dragon Balls to gain immortality, but later became an anti-hero as even greater threats were introduced in the series. In the series, Vegeta is a member of the Royal Saiyan lineage, the extraterrestrial race that the series' main character is from. Even though Vegeta is viewed as a dangerous enemy to Goku for the beginning of the series, he later becomes a trusted ally to Goku with his assistance in the defeat of powerful enemies such as Cell and Majin Buu. He always strives to "surpass Kakarrot (Goku's Birth Name)."
Trunks ( Torankusu) is the Human/Saiyan
hybrid son of Bulma and Vegeta,
and later the older brother of Bulla.
In the English dubs of the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi
video game series, he is
called Kid Trunks, to differentiate with his alternate future counterpart. Trunks is later revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls, and lends energy
to Goku's Super Spirit Bomb. He and Goten also get a
group of people to lend a hand as well. Trunks is later seen at a party
at his home. 10 years pass, Trunks is forced by Vegeta to compete in
the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Trunks is not seen competing in
this tournament, due to Goku and Uub's leaving the competition at the
end of the series.
Super 17 Saga
Edit
A year later, Trunks observes the 30th World Martial Arts Tournament,
due to the fact that it was too late for him to compete.
A month later, Trunks is ambushed by a brainwashed Android #17. Trunks joins up with Goten, Majuub, Pan, Gohan and Vegeta to fight countless villains who have escaped from Hell. Trunks, then joins the fight against Super 17 but is unable to defeat him even with the help of Gohan, Goten, Majuub, and his father.
Gotenks
is first seen within the Majin Buu Saga. It was suggested that he be created in
response to the destructive forces of the powerful Majin
Buu. Goten and Trunks, Gotenks' fusion counterparts, were trained
and taught by Goku and later by Piccolo
on how to successfully perform the Fusion Dance. After learning the
procedures and steps that needed to be taken for its success, Goten and
Trunks performed the fusion, however they failed not once, but twice.
Because the Fusion Dance is a thirty-minute period, one hour was wasted
on Gotenks' fusion. This was usually due to the fact that one of the
counterparts, either Goten or Trunks, did something incorrectly while
performing the dance, causing Gotenks to be formed as grotesquely
emaciated or morbidly obese. Eventually, Goten and Trunks performed it
properly and created the fighter Gotenks. Piccolo and the others noticed
that he had incredible power, but it was questioned as to whether or
not he could fight Majin Buu. When Gotenks was first fused, he felt
quite confident of his new power, and jumped to a conclusion that
he was strong enough to beat Majin evenBuu. Unfortunately for him and the
rest of Z Warriors, Majin Buu swiftly took care of Gotenks in a
heartbeat. Gotenks retreated, and realized that he was still too weak
for Majin Buu. Piccolo suggested (after scolding the overconfident
Saiyan for disobeying) that Gotenks defuse, and fuse again, only this
time as a Super Saiyan.
